About Keith Culver
I am from Birmingham, Alabama. Apart from God, the most important people in my life are my wife Lindy and our daughter Mercy. Lindy and I were married on September 25, 1999 and graced with our beautful little girl on March 30, 2003.
Lindy has been a tremendous asset to me throughout my entire ministry. Not only is she an incredible wife and mom, she is also a wonderful woman of God that I trust whole-heartedly. She has always been my number one fan and I am blessed to have her and Mercy in my life.
Lindy and I have been in full time ministry for more than a decade together. I began as a youth pastor in West Virginia, then moved on to South Carolina, also as a youth pastor, and a few years ago, accepted the position as Associate Pastor in the Birmingham, AL. area. In this decade of ministry, I have seen hundreds come to accept Christ and many more experience the supernatural power of God in their lives. People have been changed by God and I am so blessed to have been a small part of that movement in their lives.
Mission of This Ministry
Recently, God has birthed within me the desire to help pastors and churches reach their full potential as a church body. I believe, in order for the church to prevail when all else fails, we need to be functioning on all cylinders. I have always had a heart for student ministry. Over the last decade, I have served as a youth pastor and an associate pastor for local churches from West Virginia to South Carolina, and now, in Alabama. I have seen youth ministries flourish under great leadership and have also seen them dissipate under unorganized or under trained leadership. My objective for this ministry, is not only to preach to students in rallies or camps, but also to train the leaders or youth pastors in smaller churches that just can't seem to reach that potential that God has for them.
I am in no way claiming to be an expert at anything, but I am seasoned in student ministry and have experienced great and difficult times within my own ministry. Discipleship, Evangelism, and Relationship are the key components to making any ministry successful...especially student ministry.
My goal is to come into your church, meet with your leadership team, and answer any questions I can and actually show them how these three elements can take a non existent youth program to one that will reach and change a city! I've seen it done!
I also have a heart for the local church. The Church today is in great need for spiritual empowerment. Discipleship and intimacy with Christ has seemed to be pushed by the wayside in order to replace it with a social club type church. I believe God is speaking a new word to the church and that word is simply "BE AMAZED AGAIN!" When was the last time the church really stood in awe of a mighty God? When was the last time your church has experienced God? God is a big God....let him do what he does! My messages are relevant, thought-provoking, and intense. My passion for the Church and for the lost is evident in my delivery. My ongoing desire is to see the lost come to Christ and to see the Christian develop a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him.
Keith's Brief Testimony
On February 21, 1995, I gave my life fully to Christ. My life was completely transformed by the power of God. The Bible says in John 10:10 that "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy..." However, the Scripture goes on to say, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (Jesus)." This is exactly what took place in my life. Jesus took me out of the snares of the enemy and brought me into abundant life through Christ. The underlying message here is simply...FREEDOM!
My goal in life is that all believers understand that they are free in Christ and for unbelievers to realize that freedom awaits them if they will only surrender fully to the grace , mercy, and love of God.
Ministry Background
January 2007-Present- Horizon Church, Vestavia Hills, Al.
I presently serve as the Associate Pastor of a great church in the Birmingham area. Over the past couple of years, God has burdened my heart for discipleship and growth within our body of believers. My discipleship class is full of believers who have a desire and burning passion to grow in their walk with God. I have been honored to serve side by side with the Sr. Pastor and share messages from my heart to our congregation on a regular basis.
January 2001-July 2006- First Assembly of God, Greenwood, SC.
This was an incredible time of growth in my ministry and personal relationship with Christ. I witnessed God do incredible things in the lives of teenagers and I witnessed tremendous growth numerically. In a very small church, we saw God more than triple the size of the youth ministry in only a few months. My students there had great vision and great passion to see their friends come to Christ.....and they did!
I was given many opportunities to minister at the local schools, speak at youth rallies around the city, and lead an incredible group of students, which include many who are in full time ministry today!
March 1999-September 2000- Stealey Assembly of God, Clarksburg, WV.
I served as student pastor at my first church in West Virginia. I learned so much about hard work and endurance in ministry from our lead pastor. I was young, full of passion, and empty of experience, but this pastor took me under his wing and taught me so much. I will forever be grateful to him.
The students here were an incredible group of students who were very involved in the ministry of the church. We formed a drama team that was given the opportunity to travel the state ministering, doing home missionary work, and leading services.
In this time period, I was also given the opportunity to speak at a Kid's Crusade in Riersburg, PA (the home of Pennsylvania's Teen Challenge), along side Rev. David Wilkerson. Over 100 young kids were moved by the power of God that week in which many experienced the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
1996-1998- Birmingham Metro Master's Commission
Master's Commission is a nine month, hands on discipleship program designed to teach those called into ministry the work of the Church. I have taken all that I've learned from the leadership of Kingwood Assembly of God and implemented it into my life and ministry today.
